The Scottish Trauma Audit Group (STAG) is a national audit within the Scottish National Audit Programme of Public Health Scotland.
STAG recommenced an audit of trauma in 2011 with the aim of improving the quality of care, overall experience and long term outcome of patients with significant injuries through measuring compliance against standards of care to support local quality improvement.
The responsibility for the oversight of the audit including maintenance of reporting standards, adherence to aims, objectives and reporting of results rests with the STAG Steering Group, with multi-disciplinary representation from most of the Health boards in Scotland and patient representation. The Steering Group meets regularly throughout the year to review the progress and direction of the audit in achieving its aims and objectives.

eSTAG
eSTAG (a bespoke secure web application database) went live in November 2017 and allows relevant NHS staff to view or edit data for patients within their health board.
Reports using the Tableau™ Visualization Tool use data from eSTAG to ensure timely reporting of data. Reports are updated daily (with data entered on the previous day) and are available at National, Regional and Hospital levels with a bespoke report also available for the Scottish Ambulance Service.
Please contact the STAG team if you require access to either of these products and we will firstly confirm this with the Lead Audit Consultant for STAG and then set this up if appropriate.
